It brings up a window where you can chose to enter Safe Mode, revert to previous known settings, or Start Windows normally. Whatever you select it just restarts and does that in an eternal loop.

If it hadn't found anything, then I would have accepted defeat, but as I can 'see' the HD and some of it, I can't accept that its gone.
