Have you been trying to disarm it with an alarm fob or using a key in the door lock?

I had an aftermarket alarm and once when I disarmed it, I opened the door and the Ford alarm went off, couldn't find out to stop it. Rang a mate and he told me to use the key to lock the door [to arm it] and then the key to unlock it [to disarm it].
