DC to AC is indeed possible, infact you can easily create a pure sine wave of any voltage from any DC input voltage.

Now, back to topic. The EMFPA relys on a current, between around -10mA to +160mA

It sounds very much like a sensor/fuel ecu issue. Forget trying to see if there is fuel going to the injectors. The fact that when u depress the metering flap means that there is. The reason it only runs for a few seconds, is that u are overfuelling it. The flap is very sensitive, and unless u are expereinced, it's difficult to know how much to press down. What's happeneing in this case, is that there is probably no cold start enrichment from the ECU. If you could get the engine warm, u'd find it would run without the EMFPA connected. Electrical problem no doubt.

If ur not confident on finding this, u could try turning the metering head screw 1/4 of a turn clockwise untill she starts. U will have no full throttle or temp controlled fuelling though.
