It only lasted a few races coz he welded a couple of plates into his sump. He didn't have a proper baffled sump. If he has a proper baffled sump, he will have no issues with surge.

I bet the plates he welded in were vertical plates as well. It sounds like hes read a bit about baffling sumps, and though 'I can do that' and fired in a few plates.

Its not quite so simple.
