Well......you could strip the dizzy down and see if any of the wires for the sensor inside are un-insulated/damaged, its been known, but if its the sensor then you will never see anything.

To be fair, you had a completely raped rotor arm, and an old crusty relay, if the dizzy is breaking down aswell thats some shit luck!!

Just drive the thing locally for now until you build a bit more faith up, and make sure it gets hot as thats when the sensor is most likely to play up!
