vroooom ptssssh and shane are right mate. Get it catalogued properly and then you will have no hassles should you decide to sell it at a later stage.

Getting a garage to restamp it will not look correct & imo look more dodgy.

Speak to the DVLA and ask their advice..after all if you want it restamping then you would be wise to go via them and get proof off them it was done correctly and the car is not dodgy.
