Default I see green spots... Paintwork Question

My white S2 RS Turbo has been hiding away under a car cover for about 6 months now at the bottom of my driveway, however while it was moved so some work could be done on the house, the car cover was left off.. and some moron decided that was a perfect time to paint their fence green, with one of those DIY panit spraying things, in what must have been a hurricane force wind..

My car is now covered top to bottom in millions of little spots of green. I have tried various things to get it off.. T-cut does nothing, neither does the expensive Autoglym equivalent.. although yesterday i accidentally slpashed a spot of Methylated Spirits onto the wing, rubbed it off promptly and it took the green straight off!

So my question is, is Methylated Spirits too harsh to use all over my car to get rid of this stuff? I dont want to end up with a shiney silver car..

Cheers
