That pic is how mine is done too - 2wd style from the inlet side, like Spadge says.

4x4 iirc come from near the exhaust manifold on the head - shorter pipe run.

Which is better? I don't know, but it could be said it was changed for a reason on the newer 4x4 cars.... so would be best left as it is on yours unless someone comes up with a good reason why not.
