Wireless should be fine from both machines without problems.
Wack a wireless adaptor in the machines set up WEP on the hub/access point so you neighbours cant use your BB to look at porn.
The only reason you may need to plug into it USB is to configure it. IE WEP.
Now depending on who set this up and what model it is you may not be able to access its setup console wirelessly. Mine has a check box to disable configuration via wireless.

The wireless side is all end user kit. Its still working on Ethernet/TCP-IP protocols so won't matter if its wired/wireless.
