Quick way of checking the cv joint is jack up that corner - put wheel on full lock - spin by hand to see if u hear anything like rubbing or a cracking noise - also whilst jacked up centre wheels put yr hands at 9 & 3 o'clock & try rocking the wheel towards you - if the bearing is knackered you will know it as there will be play.
