L6. L8 or P8??

A freind of mine has a k reg esc cos , he was told that the ecu was swapped for a L6 which ahmed altered the software to run the 4x4 tps etc.

This means it wont be running closed loop as it should, cant reaaly see why anyone would do that?

how can i tell what ecu it is? what are the differences?
