In total contrast to this, I needed a rear suspension bush doing on the beemer. Bro in law told me of a guy who looks after his dad's car and is meant to be sound. Phoned him up for a quote, and he told me that he would do both bushes as when one is gone, the other is normally on its way out.

Fair enough I said, whatever it needs. Left the car with him, and later went back for it. When I got there he said "Oh, I only did one bush as the other has actually been replaced at some point and is absolutely fine".

How many garages would just tell you they'd done both?
