I had to check Microcat as well. It seems that S1 had the same crank as other 1.6 mk3 Escorts, radiused or not. S2 and FRST had a separate crank from any other 1.6 CVHs.
I wouldn't be worried about using a non-radiused crank. Not the first thing to break. I'm running a turboed mk5 engine as well.
