If all you want is peak power, then fine go with the small engine.. however, if what you want is a good spread of torque (the thing that makes you go fast ultimately), then you need to look at a decent engine..
but matey your sorta no prove to back up you claims i mean the two fastest cars in the country both have 1.6
so wouldnt u agree that the 1.6 tuned is a better option ?

No, very true.
But in the same way, some of us get as much satisfaction from achieving what we have with the original engine. Mine still runs the original Crank that it rolled out of the factory with, which hasn't been ground. It also runs the original Exhaust manifold and a standard Head Gasket.
It's just a by-product that mine has always done well in Top Speed events.
