ah.. ok..
same pretty much holds true though. the pulley needs to extend slightly beyond the end of the crank, and the external washer bears against the edge of the pulley to clamp it onto the crank. The external washer needs to be thick enough to ensure the bolt doesn't bottom out in the crank thread before the pulley is clamped tight.


**edit*** i just reread your post about the bolt.... now i'm not so sure - I'm working from memory of the last zetec i put together (an early one) .
