Jim lad...i have had nowt but problems trying to convert avi to dvd of course probably using a crap program..but its the time involved also much better to use a media tyep PC to TV.
Watching an AVI file on TV in whatever method of connection is as good as the moniter virtually....of course windows looks shit (NOT AVI FILES) UNLESS your TV has a VGA input then it looks better.....better still if it has DIGITAL input like a HD ready TV you get flawless windows at 50inch and the films are looking more vibrant.Think about it Jim...an AVI film dont look any better the higher the resolution YOU set your moniter too
..Also you need to see a PC game at 50inch on a DVI to HDMI TV stunning...BUT not as good as XBOX 360 running HiDef as the games were made for it
