ok phoned another ford dealer and they gave me the part number 7102611

And said £206 + VAT!

A private parts place I phoned found one for £120 + VAT

But still this is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for a fuel pump.

Any chance whether someone can see if the the part number quoted above is the same as any other pumps listed for other models of fiesta or fords.

Ebay are selling lots of pumps listed for fiestas at around £25 brand new or less but the part numbers are nothing like the above one. Buying the pump at the above price and labour charge of fitting it will probably amount to the cost he paid for the car!

Any ideas much appreciated
