To fit a L8 or P8 to a 2wd loom requires the top and bottom wires on the TPS plug reversing. This is because the 4wd looms are wired inverse to the 2wd's.

The PF09 sensor also requires fitting in place of the PF01. This is because the PF01 is open circuit at idle which is what the L1 and 6 ecus look for to activate idle and overun strategies, where as the L8 and P8 look for a small resistance, which is what the PF09 outputs at idle. The later ecu's will see open circuit as a TPS error and drop into LOS.

The P8 internally has no babyboard at all as standard. Your mapper will supply the chip that contains your run software and if he requires encryption will also supply you an encryption babyboard, so you have nothing further to worry about. Enjoy your mapping day.

Hope this helps.
