The tacho lies like a politician

The limiter on the new R6 halts the engine at a genuine 15,900rpm despite what the tacho is saying.

That makes the 17,500 claim about 10% optimistic which, considering a tacho is simply measuring pulses and a lot easier to get right than speed, is pretty shocking

In fact Yamaha America is offering any customer who is dissatisfied with the fact their bike does not rev to 17.5k their money back! (The American advertising made a big deal about the supposed rev limit)

Lovely bikes though

It's still the highest revving sports 600 out there.........by 400rpm (GSXR600 15,500rpm. 16,200rpm claimed)
