55 degrres isn't dangerous at all. Some turbo cars have run without intercooelrs full stop. Hot compressed air is nothing like the temperatures seen in the combustion chamber.

It's certainly true that cool air gives more power, but equally, if more not important, is the intercoolers ability to flow - and thats where the GRS really falls.

The GRS certainly do cool the air - because it spends so much time in there! A good example is Linsay's car, which did 220bhp on a pace double capacity, and 230 on a GRS. Defo an improvement, but hardly earth shattering.
