I think that little lot in the pics came to about £40. My unit was working fine, but im going bufty so it had to look the part and also becuase of the way a standard breather operates, it pumps all the crap back into the metering unit, so i split it apart, cleaned all inside,(there was alot of crap in there) popped the fuel distributor off, replaced the seal, lubricated the pin that comes down from the fuel distributor, then popped it all back together with new bolts, banjo's etc.
If yours is faulty, then obviously it needs splitting apart anyway to find out why its faulty. The answer may be obvious like a broken spring, so you could then repair it yourself for a fairly cheap price i would say. They are very very simple inside
hope thats of some help, technically a rebuild more then reconditioned i suppose
