First of all have you checked the alternator is definitely charging by puuting a volt meter across the battery. You should have 13.5v-14.2v. If its below this I would just try putting a live to the blue wire if its connected to the alternator and see if it then charges. If it does then you just need to run an ignition live to the blue wire if not

DON'T put a live to the blue wire.......the blue wire is earth when the car is not running and changes to the charging voltage when the engine is running. If you do when you switch the car of that will mean a dead short from 12v to earth.......
