I mean a bigger football club, ie Barcelona, Real Madrid etc.. If gerrard asked liverpool for £130,000 a week I bet they would pay it to keep him, Barcelona dont pay massive wages. There was a documentary on BBC a couple years ago about how Laporta has restructured the club and each player earns the same basic wage. He had a diagram showing what hue meant, it was something like this iirc..

basic wage = XYZ + Goal Bonus + League Position Bonus etc..
