i will have to check the coolant temp sensor then, would that have anything to do with the sensor that makes the fan cut in cos the fan cuts in fine! not having much luck with the car today, just changed the handbrake warning light switch cos it was staying on all the time, then it still didnt work! car turned out to be low on brake fluid!!! the really annoying thing is i spent my last spare tenner on the switch!!!

in the haynes manual it says the coolant temp sensor is on the inlet manifold? is that right, if its the blue connector mine is mounted on the side of the head with coolant pipes running past it? does this sound right?
