the power steering pump is all steel , sorry but just done the water pump on my 260 swb 52 plate , it is true the ford pumps are crapy plastic and do fail , i never needed to change my pas pump as the female socket connetion that the water pump fits into when bolted together was steel, imo i would strip and inspect water pump and pas pump before ordering both parts , good luck
