Protection should really be provided by a paint sealant such as Autoglym Extra gloss protection, or Poorboys EX (solid colours) EX-P (colours with flake)

You should be using your wax as a finishing product.. your wax will give you protection but it really there to give tou water retardation and reflection.

On your car it use Poorboys EX-P sealant followd by some Poorboys, nattys paste wax, P21S Concours wax or some Harly wax...

These will all work very well
