Default 2.0 16v Fiesta MK3.5 Si Restoration, a year of ownership....

Owned this car for almost a year now, its seen a lot of changes, both cosmetic and performance wise.

Started out as a 1600 16v Fiesta Si with 49.000 miles on the clock, purchased on eBay for 850.00 with 12 months MOT and 6 months tax:

I then lowered it 35mm and added a set of Team Dynamics Phantoms -

I then got myself a full scorpian system with de-cat for 80.00 posted off ebay, bargain :

Then bought a Gmax springs and shocks kit for 100 notes, 60mm lower -

Then about a week later it snowed and i decided to do some drifting, and ended up going toe to toe with a nice kerb, so back to the steelies it was:

Then on the 31st December 2005, this beast landed on my driveway:

One MK1 2.0 16v Engine.

Well actually i had attempted to pick it up earlier on in the week but with my car being stupidly low on 14 inch steelies, and the bloke with the engine being down the other end of an icy farm track, it wasnt happening!

While i was stripping it down and building it up, i got pissed off with various rust bubbles dotted all over the car, which was quite annoying seeing as it had hardly done any miles at all..

Meanwhile, the mondeo engine got molested:

and after a good tidy up and a lick of the good old hammerite she became:

Then take one brand new RS1800 Manifold from ebay:

The car also got treated to a nice sexy set of wolfrace voodoos (80 quid) and some black lexus lights -

Escort/Fiesta Zetec Waterpump:

Shiny thing -

Laguna Splitter fitted, looking sexy as :

2.0 DESK ECU and MAF sensor from same car -

Pickup pipe and sump changed to fiesta zetec items, ( 2.0 sump has the gap in the wrong place and will foul exhaust manifold, 2.0 pickup pipe would then foul the inside of the fiesta sump, so fiesta pickup pipe fits straight on)

1.6 sump is the silver cleaner one next to the 2.0 dirty one -

New plates -

Attacked more rust:

The 2.0 was then fitted at the beginning of Feb, took my mate to court in sheffield to give it a blast out..

No pics of the engine being fitted as i smashed my camera and was waiting for a warranty replacement.. however -

Then disaster struck near to home:

GRRR!

New wheels -

Too big, tyres are expensive and they scrape like a bugger, currently for sale... wished id kept the voodoos.

Then one sleepy morning going to the jobcentre, lets change lanes, BANG!

Off roading down avon dasset hills -

Smoothed my boot and fitted MK5 Zetec S Rear Bumper

Then i blew up the gearbox being silly, so i decided to strip it and scrap it.

The next day i had a change of heart, and she was to be restored to a rust free shell !

Front wings off, one was rotton and was rotton and dented from the crash -

Rusty front valance off -

The worst and most problematic part, which started as a 5p rust bubble -

Need to cut this from a spare car i have and weld it into place.

New wings fitted, bolt on instead of spot welded on -

Just a temporary fix for now, will make it neater and get proper bolts when its on for good.

Quick check of the panel gaps :

Lovely job.

Need to attach it to the sill and the front panel.

Next plans -

Get her running again.

Fit new box

Drill and test Fit the other wing.

Remove both wings, sort rust, zinc prime inner wings and hammerite them.

Re fit washer bottle to left hand side.

Paint insides of the new wings

Trim small amount of the lip off the new wings to avoid tyres scrubbing the arches.

Fit new gearbox

Fit new lower arms.

Get the new front lower valance welded on.

Get 2 full sills professionally welded on.

Then a full respray in either panther black or moondust silver in the summer.

Xr2i front with inner fogs removed, semi badboy bonnet, window tints, new alloys, fit xr2i skirts and arches all to come.

Will update when ive done more !
