ford do a special sump sealer for 4x4 cosworth engines, that had no gasket, i would use that ,ive had no probs its only £7.50....

Also double check with your supplier that the part numbers on your new pump are not in those that are faulty...... and create too much pressure ,otherwise you will be doing it all over again.
