It's not plastic.... its just matt black paint, and it will come off if you put enough t-cut on it... my old red xr3i had been polished with t-cut a few too many times by a previous owner and the black had almost disappeared in some places. Trust me... body-colour paint is underneath!

Plastic side-strips will peel off if you heat them up [hairdryer or hot water for starters] and then apply t-cut or polish to remove any remaining stickiness....

Other things you'll need for an RST-rep are:
- colour-coded rear spoiler
- rs bodykit
- bonnet with vents
- recaro front seats
- rst alloy wheels

Other than those things, its hard to distinguish a rep from a real one unless you are really looking at mechanical details.

Another detail to remember though, that RST all had BLACK bumper inserts - not red as on white, grey and black xr3is... only the red ones had black bumper inserts.... although I've seen a few cars with either green or blue bumper inserts - which looked kinda cheesy, but different.... and on black cars, chrome inserts from any Escort Ghia can look like a nice finishing touch - especially if you add a late spec Escort badge from a mk5/6!
