To suggest that Hostel is better on account of the fact that it could happen is so shallow.
Yes, the storyline of Hostel was superb and had it have been directed by someone better, I don't doubt that it would be a superb film. But wasn't the guy that directed it the same guy that did Cabin Fever? Say no more.
Hostel is good. But it just seemed to me as though every so often they thought to themselves 'Oh, we haven't had any gore for a while, lets chuck some in now' and what followed was a pretty lame effort at trying to catch up.
I still say it's worth a watch, but for those that liked Saw and expect it to be as good, will be disappointed.
