I have NEVER found that in the Red Sea. Most of the staff are so friendly as they have an ulterior motive. They want contact in the UK as they wold like to come over here, but need to be invited or something. I never did properly understand it. However, that never made them unpleasant or intimidating.
There is a good choice of food to eat and there was a woman in the main food area that sat in the corner with a large brick oven, cooking pitta's which were absolutely lovely.
Hyatt's reef is accessed via a long wooden jetty, which as you walk along it, you can see into the shallow part of the reef which is only a few inches deep. At the end of the jetty, it goes deeper and you can snorkel along it. We saw many species of marine life, including a HUGE eagle ray.
We didn't really do any trips, but if you like marine life, you MUST do the trip to Tiran island. It is spectacular. You pass a huge shipwreck stranded on the reef, which is so amazing. You also visit some great snorkelling sites. If you go on the properly arranged ones, you will be on a large flashy boat too.
Makes me want to go back.
