Then it happened! After some years searching for the right car I'm finally hooked up with a beautiful 1986 3 door Cossie.
I picked it up in Austria last wednesday and drove it home to Denmark without any problems (1300 kms).
Specs:
One owner, garagekept, never damaged, full service, 100% original and only 23519 miles (37851 kms) on it. Everything is documented, even the milage!
The only reason why the car is sold is that the former owner died in november last year, due to natural causes. The widow sold the car to the Cosworth-specialist in Wienna who has served the car. And then they sold it to me.
The crazy thing about this car is that since 1999 it has only driven a bit over 4000 kms. The car still sits on the original Dunlop SP Sport D40 tires which are very to close to new-state. Even original stickers from the Ford-factory is still on the car, both in the cabin, on the outside and underneath.
The only downside on the car is that the former owner had the radiatorgrill painted white, but I will change that back into black ASAP.
I have plans to keep the car 100% standard since it's been my dreamcar since I was very young and that it will be for sunny weekend drives only.
I don't intend to drive on the Dunlup tires, because I think there are much better tires produced today. = Bigger safety, grip etc. But should I keep the tires in my garage, or should I sell them? I have 6 pcs total, all on original alloy-wheels. 2 pcs have never touched the ground and 4 pcs have done 23519 miles.
Here are some pictures of my car.:
