Surely, if you're using the original strut mounting nuts to secure the strut brace, then all you will be doing is putting extra stresses on the shock absorber itself. I thought the idea of a strut brace was to reduce the amount the strut tops moved under hard cornering, so the strut brace needs to be fitted rigid to the body. I wouldn't have thought it would do your shockers/top mounts any good at all
