I wasn't suggesting you should get into the argument
The most likely reason recirculating valves are fitted to standard turbo cars is that your average joe blogs has no interest in the pschiiit noises, or chatter (turbo blades cutting through compressed air).
They keep the car quiet, but don't necessarily add anything to the reliability of the car overall
They become really necessary with bigger turbos or seriously big boost.
