Mark, the dump valve on/off debate has been going on here for years and is still not resolved.
As said, T3 and T34 are ok and won't suffer in the long term.
However, T4 and GT series turbos deffo need them iirc.
A quick search on here will give you both sides of the argument, up to you to make up your mind
