Don't get me wrong, I'd love the RS brand to keep on going for years to come, but....

The problems remain that it would be an expensive vehicle and the market for such a machine is quite small - thats why we havent got it on any new car release schedules at the moment. Having said that, theres so much enthusiasm for an RS model, it would be hard to abandon it completely.
So basically, at the moment it's a loss leader, and in today's car market, ford aren't going to sign off a car that won't make money.
VW have done it out of spite with the Veyron (different kettle of fish for sure), but no car maker can afford this sort of stunt these days.
