there is one posibility, i had a 1600s fiesta on a H, same as the 2i just on carbs,
every morning would start up and huge cloud of smoke, then soon as warm goes away, if left at low revs for a time it would smoke again.
Long story short, it was the stem seals, they are little ruber washers that seal the valves at the top, under the spring. easy to check too, if you drop the rocker cover off, just look through between the coils of the springs, you will see a band around it about half way up if the seal has sliped, just get a small screw driver in there and push em down til they seat corectly and should fix it temporarily!! but means you need to rebuild the top end to replace em which is a head off job im afraid, how ever i ran on it like that for about a year, when smoke started again i just repeated the process,
