i had put the grooved shells in the rods 
Went back into the garage last night after my last post on here and pulled it all appart again and then re-built it with brain switched on lol

are we talking about the same thing buddy, i was on about the grooved bearings going in the
block and the smooth going in the
main caps, didn't mention the rods
i'm getting confused now
