As for the CIS card i couldnt give two shits TBH. I am on the books and i prefer it. Dont have to fook about going firm to firm, dont have to go looking for starts when it looks like a jobs coming to an end, dont have to do any books etc etc
Im on price and earn as much as any other bricklayer on the cis, and gauranteed work through winter doing fook all and getting paid even if its a foot deep in snow, as long as i turn up....
Being on the books has a lot more advantages, holiday pay is another...
another plus point is that if your firm has to start laying people off you will be the last to go... CIS lads first but as you said the most benefitial point of being cards in is the holiday pay... i see so many cis lads come and go in the long run everyone i spaek to would rather be cards in.
