that would only stop the gearbox from going on as the splines wouldnt be in line,

how many miles have you done since it was fitted? may be yours needs a few miles to bed in? although I have fitted many without the probs you seem to be getting with a 6 plate NOW if it was a 4 plate I'd say grin and bear it!
