Essex & Till, yup that is what I did, I got the clip of with my finger and mole grips, my finger was hurting! owwww I got the clip off but it was welded, slit the side of it and bent/pulled it off.... Like u say new one goes straight on and I opted to use a jubilee clip instead, lots better
