Default Quick cd burning question..

Why the fook does it take so long to burn a CD on my work computer?
I think its to do with the RAID aray that i have and its slowing everything down.. the CD burner is a lite-on 48 speed one so not too bad.
It just takes a fucking age to burn anything! for example a *ahem* backup of windows XP takes about 9 mins! now my DVD burner at home which obviously does CD's too will do it in about 4 mins and that only writes CD's at 16X IIRC whats going on! anyway i can sort it? the CD burner is the only CD drive in the computer and isnt sharing it ultra IDE cable with anything
