It is kind of nice out here if you have a good job or a good source of income. but if not it is very dificult...
If your sister in law and her husband are deciding to come and live here because they want a more quiet life compared to the UK it's defenitly a good choice but they have to be a bit prepared for some things to be bit worse than in the UK. Burocracy for example is an issue here...
Do they know the area between lisbon and porto ? It's a bit big. Nearly 200 miles separate the two cities.
There are a lot of english people here but they are mostly in algarve wich is on the south end of Portugal (maybe because it's where you find the best weather in the country)...
