Default Rather unusual gearbox techy question, for bernie or others.

How would a normal helical gearbox stand up to being driven backwards?

Ie have an engine that turns the other way to normal, and then rotate the hole lot round 180 degrees, so the gearbox is in backwards and then driven backwards, so that the car still ends up going forwards.

VERY random question i know!
