quite correct, its 2.4v +&- of 0v thus making 4.8v cosistant sqaure wave, if you dont have an osciliscope handy which not many ppl have, you can use(sounds weird) a scrap pair of walkman headphones....haha yes you can listen to the pulse... just connect the headpone bare wire to the + - connections, if it clicks constant in your ear if its workin properly...weird i know but when your in the middle of nowhere and trying to determin whats wrong with your motor.........it worked lol
