went to start the escort lastnite and the key won't turn past the on position.

the crack is, turn off the imobilisers and then turn the key and all the ignition lights come on on the dash board, but thats as far as the key will turn, therefore i can't get the car to start tried everything but key just won't turn any farther

any idea's would be great
