There is more cost effective ways of doing this. Have you actually got a reason to take it off or are u just being cautious? Personally if its just as a check i would perform a compression test. Your going to pay £40ish for a head gasket set plus the price of skimming the head.
The old saying "If it ain't broke don't fix it". Thats just my advice anyway mate
