It doesnt make sense the car not cranking till you give that wire a live?

That wire not being live with IGN on (as it was) shouldnt affect the starter cranking?

Have you checked EVERTHING electrical works>? Lights radio heated screens etc etc could just be the common old fuse box issue...

BTW IIRC the wire is black alone
