is it needed with a lowered car,polybushed,or is it only for strutbraced hard suspension motors?

anybody put ones on their suspension,and could you weld them up yourself to do it?

ie,a metal disc,drilled,offered up ,and wlded into place,stopping the chances of punching through,

there around £40 each.
