Hill decent works well, basically it keeps the vehicle crawling down slipery surfaces by applying braking to individual wheels.

Great for slowing you down if you have a clear path to the bottom BUT under those conditions dirricult to stop on the slope as was REALLY slippy. Thats why i decided to put the chains on
